CSP Final Project: Cyber Security Awareness

Final Project: Cyber Security Awareness

Project Overview:

Students will create an interactive poster presentation that teaches an important cybersecurity concept to their peers. The goal is to design a visually engaging and informative poster while incorporating interactive elements that make learning about cybersecurity fun and accessible.

Key Components:

  1. Cybersecurity Topic Selection:
    • Students will choose a cybersecurity theme, such as:
      • Phishing & Social Engineering
      • Password Security & Best Practices
      • Data Encryption & Privacy
      • Cyber Threats & Malware
      • Safe Internet Browsing
      • Two-Factor Authentication
      • Cyber Ethics & Responsible Online Behavior
      • Ethical Hacking & White Hat Hackers
      • Cybersecurity Laws & Digital Privacy
      • Cybersecurity in Online Gaming
      • The Role of AI in Cybersecurity
      • Topic of your choice
      • No repeated topics! Once you have your topic, email to reserve.
  2. Poster Design:
    • The poster must include:
      • A clear, eye-catching title
      • Infographics to visually explain cybersecurity threats and solutions
      • Real-world examples of cybersecurity incidents and their impact
      • Tips & best practices for staying safe online
  3. Interactive Element:
    • Students must add an interactive component, such as:
      • QR Codes linking to additional resources, quizzes, or cybersecurity simulations
        • If doing a quiz, include at least 10 questions
      • A mini-game or puzzle where viewers must identify phishing emails or weak passwords
      • A “Choose Your Own Adventure” scenario, where participants decide how to respond to cybersecurity threats
      • A cybersecurity myth-busting challenge, encouraging peers to debunk misconceptions
      • Interactive element must be original! Do not link to a pre-existing interactive element
  4. Presentation:
    • Each group of 2-3 will present their poster to the class, explaining key takeaways and answering questions.
    • A class discussion will follow, allowing students to share insights and personal cybersecurity experiences.

Category 4 – Excellent 3 – Proficient 2 – Developing 1 – Needs Improvement
Content Accuracy Information is highly accurate, thoroughly researched, and clearly explains cybersecurity concepts. Information is mostly accurate and well-researched, with minor gaps in clarity or depth. Some inaccuracies or missing key details; research needs improvement. Information lacks accuracy or is incomplete; major cybersecurity concepts are unclear.
Visual Design & Creativity Poster is visually engaging, well-organized, and uses graphics, colors, and formatting effectively to enhance learning. Poster is neatly designed, uses visuals well, and is easy to understand, though it could be more polished. Some design elements present, but layout feels cluttered or lacks creativity. Poster is disorganized, visually unappealing, or difficult to read.
Interactivity & Engagement Engaging interactive elements encourage audience participation and make cybersecurity learning fun. Interactive components are present and functional, though could be more engaging or refined. Some attempt at interactivity, but elements are minimal or not fully developed. No interactive elements or they do not contribute to engagement.
Presentation & Communication Presenter confidently explains cybersecurity concepts, answers questions effectively, and engages the audience. Presentation is clear and informative, with some good audience engagement. Some difficulty in explaining concepts or maintaining audience interest. Presentation lacks clarity, confidence, or engagement with the audience.
